THE BARRISTERS WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
The UQLA and the UQ Law Society (UQLS) provide a programme which allows second or third year students, particularly those who are considering a career at the Bar, to visit a set of barristers’ chambers and follow the work of the participating barristers.
Students are given the opportunity to meet barristers in the group, obtain a behind-the-scenes view of how matters are prepared for court, then attend court to observe how the matter is resolved. After concluding this phase of the programme, it may be possible for students to spend a further period of time in a Judge’s chambers to obtain a different perspective on the operation of the courts.
The UQLA is very grateful for the continuing support for this programme provided by numerous sets of barristers chambers and Judges of the Supreme Court.
